May 22nd, SLMR West Series at the OffRoad Speedway

The Malvern Bank Super Late Model West series will be making a stop at the OffRoad Speedway this Saturday, May 22nd. The last time SLMR was at the OffRoad Speedway in 2020, Tad Pospisil won the A-Feature. Ben Schaller, another Norfolk native in the SLMR series, was runner up in the 2019 race at OffRoad.
Some of the local Late Models drivers that have competed in the SLMR in the past are Jim Johnson, Nelson Vollbrecht, Ben Sukup, Robert Osborne, Chase Osborne, Matt Haase, Kaleb Jasperson, Eric Vanosdall, Brock Carlson, Chris Johnson, Doug Tomka and Jr Coover. Many of these drivers will show up to give the SLMR regulars a run for their money.
Tad Pospisil is the current points leader in the Malvern Bank SLMR series with Kyle Berck 10 points back.
The 2021 OffRoad Speedway points racing is off to a great start. We should have five nights in by the end of May. The first night of racing in 2020 did not happen until June.
Cameron Meyer, Justin Addison, Nate Buck and Kyle Prauner are leading in their respective classes. There has been 13 winners out of the 15 Local IMCA races with the 2 repeat winners being Jason Wilkinson(Hobby Stocks) and David Johnson(Sport Mods).
A couple of Track Records have been set in 2021, with Tad Pospisil setting a new record for SLMR cars with a time of 13.878 during qualifying on the Tri-State Late model night 4-24-21. David Johnson set a new Sport Mod record on May 1st in the 3rd heat with a time of 15.557. In that same heat, Tyler Afrank was 1/1000 off the old standard set by James Roebuck in 2019. A new class record was set by Cameron Bussinger in the 600cc winged A Micros...14.975. There have been some very good lap times that came close to the records so the track has been fast so far this year.
