June is Late Model month at the OffRoad Speedway. June 4th saw the Malvern Bank SLMR series come to Norfolk with Jake Neal taking home the top prize. We go back to regular Race nights for the next 2 weeks. The May 28th race night will be a full show of Late Models, Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Mini Sprints and the Sprint Cars of the Western Iowa NonWing Series. Last week the possibility of 2 full shows was announced, but the logistics of making that happen would be difficult. The weather for the May 21st race night doesn't look good. So the races for this weekend will be canceled, but....next weekend should be awesome. The OffRoad Speedway will be hosting a Non Winged Sprint Car Special. In addition to the Sprints, we will be offering a double show of racing. The OffRoad Speedway received almost an inch of rain Thursday but the track needed watering Friday night. The MSTS 360 Sprint Cars will be on hand tonight for their 1st of 2 appearances this season at the OffRoad Speedway. It's Race Day at OffRoad Speedway. Mother Nature didn't help many tracks around the 3 state area. But...the OffRoad Speedway was the beneficiary of timely rains this week. Because of the many rainouts, I have decided to increase the purse in all classes. $400.00 to win the Hobby's with 27 cars or more. Last week had 25 so, real close. I have other news, but first, the races scheduled for April 30th at the OffRoad speedway are canceled due to weather. As we get into the 2nd month of the the race season, and hopefully better weather, I would like to point out a few things of interest. First off I would like to announce the April 16th races at the OffRoad Speedway will be canceled. Looks like the temps will be in the 40s by race time and continue to drop. Also taking in to consideration is the fact that it is Easter weekend. This is why we are calling it early so everyone can make their Easter plans. The Stock Car Crown Summer Series will be coming to Norfolk. This will be the 2nd stop(of 9 scheduled events) this Saturday, April 9th at the OffRoad Speedway. The 2022 opener was at Beatrice Speedway on March 19th with 44 Stock Cars(representing 5 states) competing to grab the early lead in the series.
